Sotheby’s recent Photography auction ‘The Discerning Eye: Property from the Collection of Eric Franck’ realised a total of £319,188 from the sales of 49 prints from the collector and dealer’s catalogue. Works by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Josef Koudelka and Bill Brandt were available in the auction, including Cartier-Bresson’s rare Barcelona and Le DDT a Dessau prints.
The highest selling lot was the 1976 Portugal by Josef Koudelka, a signed silver print, which sold for £22,500.

Other notable lots include Terry O’Neill’s photographs of Frank Sinatra and Audrey Hepburn, Herbert Mason’s St. Paul’s Cathedral during the Blitz, and photographs by Robert Frank, Walker Evans, W.
