The 2015 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize has been announced with the £12,000 first prize awarded to David Stewart. Stewart’s portrait of his daughter and her four friends (above) was selected from 4,929 submissions. Stewart’s image was first composed and entered into the competition in 2008 before deciding to re-stage it and re-enter it last year.
Other winners included Anoush Abrar, Peter Zelewski (above) and Ivor Prickett. The John Kobal New Work Award went to Tereza Cervenova. Winners’ works and selected photographs will feature in the annual exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery London from 12 November-21 February.
